When I got home and looked at my teeth in the mirror, I was astounded with the job that Dr. Akhikar had done. The new filings were much less noticeable than my previous one. I couldn’t have been more satisfied.

I have been very impressed with the 1st Family Dental (1st FD) and would certainly recommend it to others.

When I first popped in to 1st FD–towards the end of 2011–I really did not know what to make of the clinic. I was examined by Dr. Joseph Akhikar, an extremely jovial dentist with a good sense of humor. He found several cavities in my teeth and we had a laugh about British dental care…but I left the clinic wondering whether I was being scammed into having unnecessary fillings. This was primarily due to my cynical nature, but may have been increased due to Dr. Akhikar’s relaxed temperament.

After thinking more about the cavities and the fact that I hadn’t been to see a dentist for a couple of years, I called 1st FD and spoke to the lovely Yvonne about my options. The prices for fillings seemed reasonable so I decided to book an appointment to have one or two cavities filled to see how they came out.

When I came in for my appointment, everything went very smoothly. Dr. Akhikar made a real effort to ensure that he was satisfied before letting me leave the clinic.

I called up 1st FD and booked an appointment courtesy of the lovely Yvonne to have the remaining fillings done.

Dr. Akhikar did another very professional job with the remaining fillings, and scheduled a free follow-up appointment to make sure that everything was fine. Everyone who I have met at 1st FD has been extremely friendly and professional. As much as I do not like going to the dentist, I was actually slightly disappointed that I do not have to return for quite some time!
