Have you ever looked up at your dentist and noticed they are wearing some very strange looking glasses? Just what are they for, and why do some dentists use them?
Those glasses you see are called Dental Loupes. A loupe is a special magnifying lens. Some dentists choose to use loupes to help them to see finer details when they are performing exams or certain types of procedures. Some loupes have special attachments such as lights and filters. While you may think dental loupes might make your dentist looks a bit like a spelunker, they can be a helpful tool to aid your dentist in providing you with the best possible work and service.
